The final test phase for ESEO

Final integration of the European Student Earth Orbiter (ESEO), with the TRITEL space radiation telescope on board, was successfully carried out during the summer by the Italian space industry company SITAEL.

This was followed by vibration tests in SITAEL’s own vibration test facility, which have been finished successfully by the end of September. The satellite is now at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) of ESA waiting for the final environmental tests (thermo-vacuum, electromagnetic compatibility and functional tests) to take place. If the final tests will be successful, the satellite can be delivered to the US at the end of October for a launch due in mid-November already this year! We are looking forward to further developments and the forthcoming launch!

More details and, among others, a video footage of the vibration tests of the satellite can be seen on the corresponding ESA website.
