The ESEO Mission Control Centre managed by students of the University of Bologna, confirmed the acquisition of the first signal from ESEO. A first assessment of the ESEO telemetry seems to show nominal parameters. The satellite activated itself just after separation from the launch carrier and started transmitting at 22:21 CET.
Soon after ESEO's activation, radio amateurs from the University of Surrey received a strong beacon signal from the satellite (credits: SurreyNanosats, University of Surrey).
Yesterday night, still on the day of the launch, ESEO was received again and recorded from Leicestershire, and also from Hungary.
The ESEO-TRITEL team
ESEO is an educational hand on project of the ESA Education Office, carried out as part of the ESA Academy programmes.
The activity of the University students’ teams was coordinated by SITAEL S.p.A. (Italy), System Prime and Integrator of the whole spacecraft platform.
