After a long time, we finally had the chance to have another face-to-face - or rather hybrid - consortium meeting in our most important ESA project.
A consortium led by the Centre for Energy Research Space Research Depertment (EK-UKL) is implementing the European Space Agency's (ESA) Internal Dosimetry Array (IDA). IDA is an important flagship project of both EK and ESA, and Hungary's most significant participation in the Artemis Moon Programme.
On 16 June 2022, Progress Meeting of the project was held at Space Research Department, with ESA technical officer Nadine Boersma attending in person for the first time in a long time due to the Covid pandemic. Engineers from REMRED Ltd., the manufacturer of the IDA central electronics unit (E-Box) and the TRITEL dosimeter, were also represented in person. Other members of the consortium, Airbus Defence and Space, the German Space Agency (DLR) and the Czech company Advacam joined online.
IDA technical officer expressed her satisfaction with respect to the progress of the project. At the end of the meeting, REMRED engineers showed the breadboard model of IDA E-Box and the IDA project manager gave Nadine Boersma a tour of the test facilities.
The combined NASA Safety Review phase 0/1 is currently underway. Engineering model manufacturing is expected to start this summer.
